A two minute overview of my work. Enjoy!
Poster illustrations for Creams to be used in store. Creams is an American style diner serving ice creams, waffles, sundaes, milkshakes across the UK.
DefQon.1 is an annual hardstyle festival held in the Netherlands. Q-Dance commissioned me to create the key visual for the 2018 edition. The brief was to create an illustration and lettering in ‘80s B-movie film poster’ style. I was also asked to re-style and update the set of icons that I’ve done some years ago. These icons were used for different events/area’s during the festival.

Beer label illustration for Canadian brewery Avant Garde Artisans Brasseurs
The briefing was to make fun of a stereotype ipa hipster, and having this character laughing in disdain.
Along with two other artists, Warsteiner asked me to create an illustration for one of their limited artist edition glasses. This year's theme was 'One of the biggest small family breweries in the world'.
It was quite a fun challenge to create something around the fixed position of the logo on the glass. Therefore I used the logo as a central point in the illustration as sort of a sun shining on the elements hops, barley and water, emphasising the idea of growth, bloom, life and development.
French fashion label Kothai commissioned me to create artwork for their collection of reporter bags. The brief was to create something typographic with a vintage feel – something I really love doing. I wanted to do an artwork in an old-school cassette style. They liked the idea, and after browsing my record collection for inspiration I created some sketches. When the sketches were approved I traced them in Adobe Illustrator and created a couple of different colour ways of the artwork. These Kothai bags are available in stores and online To order please visit their website.

Oneness Tattoo has moved into a new studio and asked me to create a new logo for them. It's always an interesting challenge to create something for another artist. I decided to spend a day sketching in their studio. With Darko the founder of Oneness Tattoo looking over my shoulder and helping out, this resulted in a really inspiring day and a great collaboration.
Rivella Mango is a new flavour in the carbonated beverage range and with the advertising creatively lead by Swiss agency Leo Burnett, I was challenged to provide unique lettering for this campaign. The results reflect the name of the drink - familiar yet exotic, with Swiss messages that look Indian or Hawaiian at first glance.
Logo artwork and packaging design for DrNo Effects, a range of vintage guitar effect pedals. It has been an absolute pleasure to work on this job as I always love to mix graphic design, custom lettering and illustration. This project had all of these elements. I started by doing some rough sketches, and created six different vintage styles, one for each guitar effect. Within each artwork, I tried to reflect the sound and style of the effect. I created custom letters to make every effect unique and special. Finally, I placed the sketches in Illustrator, traced them and added colour.
As I'm a guitar player myself I have to say these vintage guitar effects are truly amazing and really take you back in time. But I guess this goes without saying as Alain Johannes of Queens of the Stone Age is one of the many users of DrNo effects. The effects are produced using the best components and materials available, and every stomp box is 100% handmade by DrNo himself.

When Vault13 Barbers asked me to create artwork for their new pomade I was really excited to get started, as I love doing packaging design. Especially when it includes custom lettering and illustration work.
I created this art deco inspired graphic and lettering for Dr.No Effects' Colossus guitar pedal. This Colossus pedal is a collaboration between Dr.No and Ruben Block from Belgium rock band Trigger Finger. This graphic is screen printed by DrNo himself with gold, silver and mint green on a dark brown rusty stomp box.

The campaign was launched world wide, and was shown in stores, magazines, on-line, on billboards etc. As part of the concept and campaign, the illustrations have also been printed as a truly unique set of limited edition posters, signed and numbered by the artists.

Logo design for Dutch Dubstep artist Spag Heddy. With a name like Spag Heddy, you just have to do some spaghetti lettering, which was great fun to do. I created different compositions, square and landscape, and colour versions as well. This way Spag Heddy has a variety of logo's to work with on social media and merchandise.
Poster artwork for a series of soul related concerts at the Patronaat.
Portrait of one of my favourite actors Willem Dafoe. Personal work
Dr.No Effects created two truly amazing guitar pedals in collaboration with no one less than Queens of the Stone Age member Troy van Leeuwen. I was asked to create the artwork for these two pedals and a Troy van Leeuwen monogram logo to be incorporated in the design and as a wax stamp on the side.

Nicke Andersson of Swedish rock band Imperial State Electric and former front man of The Hellacopters approached me to create the art for the vinyl album of his band. He asked for something bold and vintage to illustrate the record title 'Reptile Brain Music'. So I set to work, first I drew the hand of Zeus with my brush and ink, and then the crocodiles eating each other's tail. In Photoshop I placed everything together and then started with the lettering. Instead of using an existing typeface I thought it would make the album more special to create custom lettering. After finishing I added some filters to make it look like it was released in the 70's. It was so much fun to illustrate an LP album cover, as it is such a cool, tactile canvas to work on.
It was later also commisioned by Feelgood Magazine to be used on the cover of their magazine

Poster design for Graphic Design Festival Breda. The Festival's theme was 'Decode'. With this poster I want to show how our brain interprets images. When looking at this poster our brain searches for recognisable information that corresponds with what we see. But it's not possible for our brain to decode the visual information correctly, so the image distorts and moves. Can we trust our perception?
I was comissioned by Aiken Promotions to create a country music festival poster illustration for 'Harvest 2017' with headliners Miranda Lambert and Nathan Carter.

Q-Dance commissioned me to create the main campaign image for Defqon.1 Festival 2014.
DefQon.1 is an annual hardstyle festival held in the Netherlands and Australia. The audience has grown to 40,000, with tickets selling out after 39 minutes. The theme of this year is ‘Survival of the Fittest’. To emphasize this concept of evolution I created a new species of tiger that has evolved into a fierce 'super-being' with extra senses, which I translated in my design creating extra eyes, ears and mouths. I was also asked to create 6 icons that are used for different events during this festival.

The Great Carnival is my graduation project at the School of Arts. The concept of this project is the culture of haste. These days our culture teaches us that faster is better. But in the race to keep up, we all suffer the consequences. I invented an imaginary carnival to make us aware of how this generation perceives and manages its time.

Vlisco honours His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands with commemorative fabric. His Majesty King Willem-Alexander, who is married to Her Majesty Queen Máxima, has succeeded the Dutch throne on 30 April 2013. Vlisco celebrated this historic moment with a commemorative design on fabric. During my employment at Vlisco I had the honor to create the artwork for this piece fabric. It is a Limited Edition, only 12.500 yards have been printed.
West and Central Africa is home to a rich tradition in which historic and important events are celebrated by the creation of commemorative designs on fabric. This tradition and the Vlisco heritage of 167 years of creating iconic and well-loved designs, as well as the strong link between the Netherlands and Africa, made it logical that Vlisco celebrated the investiture with the development of a unique “Wax Hollandais” fabric.
Illustration depicting a cucumber apocalypse for the design blog Fontanel.
Through my agency I was asked to create a CD cover for KPM Music House, which is the production music branch of EMI. All of their music is for use in the media, and is not for sale commercially. The brief was to create something that would immediately show to their clients what kind of music is on the CD by looking at its cover art.

T-shirt illustration for the new brand JIMIJIMMY, an apparel/soft goods line that pays tribute to popular classic rock guitar riffs by capturing and visually portraying the 'essence' of the riff and by integrating tablature and/or chord symbol notation, which would allow a guitarist to learn and play the riff being represented. Commercial use of this illustration is pending.
